056: Three Ways Teachers Are Like Streetlights

Welcome to Episode 56 of the Teachonomy Talks podcast.  In this episode I focus on Three Ways Teachers are like Streetlights. The GOAL of this episode is to ENCOURAGE YOU to continue to be the light so many of your students need every day.

The impact you have as a teacher is one that students will not soon forget.  As you go into your classroom, no matter what you may be going through, just know that you bring light to so many people every day.

Next time you are driving down the street, I want to challenge you to take a moment to look up and remember these three things:

  1. Streetlights humbly blend into the background, and because of your humility you make such a difference by allowing others to shine.
  2. Streetlights provide light no matter what, so continue to be there for those depending on you to shine.
  3. Without streetlights we would be left in darkness, so never underestimate the power of your guidance in the life of a student.
